People on the local milspo pages complaining about reimplemented mask mandates at the hospital system here. I just can’t with these people. I don’t understand how wearing a mask WHERE SICK PEOPLE CONGREGATE is a bad thing. Are we really doing this again? This is why we can’t have nice things.

Nothing has made me more skeptical of government-run housing being a long-term solution to our housing woes than living in military-run housing.
Military healthcare? Yeah, I can live with it. It's relatively simply to get care. Military-run housing? Good luck getting anything fixed, ever.

But yes, I do have affordable Healthcare, bc I'm on Tricare as Milspo. Anyone saying that government would ruin Healthcare is nuts. Tricare is the tits and I wish every American had access, instead of having to kill someone first.

Not to mention being an milspo can be incredibly isolating and MLMs like to come across as friendly and community-based. When you’re thousands of miles from friends/family, it often feels like a lifeline, even though it’s more of an anchor.

They thrive in military bases because a lot of milspo need to work but can’t find work except service/retail. Companies don’t like to hire milspo knowing they’re gonna have to move after a few years. MLMs know this and use it to their advantage by pushing it as “your own business” “own your career”

A lot of military spouses do this to newer spouses and new moms. Since it’s often hard to find work as a milspo, they go in hard with “you can work this at any duty station!” Most FB pages for on base housing is just wives recruiting other wives.

I disagree, from what I’ve seen (admittedly second hand as a milspo) apps like these have been used by many soldiers for years before Signal it was WhatsApp.
It may not be authorized but if we want to get upset about its use we’re going to be very surprised at how common place it is.

Just thinking about all of the military families I know for whom the commissary is a literal lifesaver. When I worked for a grocery store couponing app company, milspo were some of our biggest customers. Fuck.
