What’s better than a one-channel #Miniscope? 🥁 A TWO-CHANNEL Miniscope!

Our new Miniscope2C is a dual-channel, open-source Miniscope that lets you record 2 fluorescent signals simultaneously in freely moving animals.

Also, the moment the dinosaur started banging on the door, it hit me that it was the miniscope from Carnival of Monsters. Even down to nipping back to a time zone to get some rope.

This started with @sskromne.bsky.social and me building the UCLA miniscope in the lab.
New paper alert! 🚨

We found that the brain's compass is remarkably stable at two scales

1️⃣ the system maintains its internal organization for weeks
2️⃣ It "remembers" its orientation for weeks, even after a single visit

This may be key to how the brain aligns its other maps.

Sad news. We were big fans of Christopher Hamilton Bidmead and his button down approach to Doctor Who. He even critiqued our Miniscope of him in 2012. A skeptic till the end.

Sunday’s episode has already been recorded, so we’ll properly pay tribute to Mr. Bidmead the week after.
Farewell to Doctor Who script editor Christopher H Bidmead, who died on August 8. He brought a singular creative vision to season 18 and was an entertaining commentor across many DVDs and John Nathan-Turner's biography. See you on the other side (E-Space).

OGRON JAY has a job MOONLIGHTING in a MINISCOPE on INTER MINOR & him have just sent us a POSTCARD!
It very SMALL & we need a MICROSCOPE to read it!
It say:
"Having a lovely time, tho a bit boring. Me have to walk up to the camera, then back again.
Did this 34,245 times today."

Congratulations to Dr. Taddeo Salemi on earning his PhD through IMPRS-SC! With Ryohei Yasuda, he developed a fluorescence-lifetime two-photon miniscope that tracks brain molecular signals as animals move naturally.

We're so excited to see what discoveries it enables. Congratulations Taddeo!

Ever since Ogron Jay got that job in the MINISCOPE, him have become a right PRETENTIOUS IDIOT!
Him keep ZOOM CALLING us and going on about being in "SHOWBUSINESS"!
"There are no SMALL PARTS, just SMALL ACTORS!" him say.
Well, to be honest, him IS MINISCULE at the moment!
