I was walking along minding my own business, and I happened to have my new lens. This kingfisher was so fun to watch, I have never seen one before. This one dove a bunch of times for tiny little fish.

And for Friday, a solitary swan. Once near extinction in the US swans are still making a come back. But these efforts are being undermined by wetland loss, lead poisoning, and injuries from human infrastructure.

After kingfishers catch a fish they knock it around on the branch they perched on. Might have to zoom in a bit to see this one. I've never seen a kingfisher before I saw this one, let alone a fishing one.

In general I think pelicans can be a bit creepy especially when they eat. This pair were swimming back and forth swaying their heads like goose & swans do. I guess they're not creepy when they are being love birds.
