#minutiae
“The minutiae of Medicaid policy” is a wild euphemism for “16M+ Americans will lose their healthcare”

you’re so high maintenance!

This guy spent 35 minutes explaining the minutiae of beer gravity vs. abv
Makes his own kimchi and likes the warm sound you only get with vinyl.

I'm going to alienate some people now.

Abortion is a critical part of gynecological care. Full stop. Hormonal birth control is used by many individuals simply to regulate difficult menstrual cycles. Legislators who don't understand the minutiae of reproductive biology should SHUT THE FUCK UP.

IMO great worldbuilding isn't about explaining the big broad systems of the world OR about self-indulgent detail of the minutiae of people's lives, it's about how the big broad systems inform/generate the minutiae

17 million Americans at risk of dying as their healthcare is stripped from them.

“Minutiae”.

"They'll get over it" - Mitch McConnell

"Everybody dies" - Joni Ernst

"Minutiae" - JD Vance

MAGA politicians have zero empathy for the plight of ordinary Americans who depend on these programs.

J.D. Vance Dismisses Kicking Millions Off Medicaid: 'Minutiae”
Vice President J.D. Vance said the reconciliation bill kicking millions off Medicaid is “minutiae" compared to securing ICE deportation funding.

MAINE VOTER ON FOX: “Platner is the best candidate by far. Probing into the minutiae of his personal relationships when you don't do that for any other candidate is ridiculous."

"minutiae of Medicaid policy" the new Republican populism!
Rarely has MAGA policy been so clearly articulated.

Denying sick Americans healthcare doesn’t matter as long as their masked, racist security force gets funding - By Order of the Vice President.

Hello minutiae my old friend, I've come to overthink again

That is going to be a really inexplicable image to anyone not up on 2014 cultural minutiae

Narratively having Ever Given getting stuck in 2021 to set up Hormuz in 2026 is great foreshadowing. You want your audience to understand the basics of international shipping in a lower stakes context so you drop the real plot without a lot of saggy exposition about the minutiae of cargo logistics.

Joe Biden just lost us every 2024 swing voter who voted Democrat because of irrelevant preachy minutiae about pardons

Why is @jd-vance-1.bsky.social telling Appalachia to drop dead? It’s just minutiae?
July 1, 2025 at 11:35 AM
Senate Republicans just voted to kick 20 million Americans off their health care.

JD Vance thinks that is "minutiae."

Ernst doesn't care because "we're all gonna die."

McConnell says people will "get over it."

Don't EVER let Republicans live this down.

Oh nothing nothing just the Vice President of the United States saying aloud the truth.

In the MAGA system, cutting people’s healthcare is mere minutiae as long as you can keep up with your mass deportations and fund your concentration camps.

in front of you are two pills. one pill will make you debate decentralisation semantics minutiae and the other pill will let you do literally anything else

It's only minutiae if you aren't the victim. What the fuck is wrong with people.

the american constitution does not deal in minutiae. it speaks in generalities with the aim of establishing a limited government of enumerated powers. it is an analytical mistake to treat textual ambiguities as license to ignore that intent or the stated intent of specific provisions. (3)

Bookmark this moment, 11.31pm, June 30 - when JD Vance described sick Americans dying without healthcare as “minutiae”.

Because, if America remains anywhere close to a functioning society, his 2028 candidacy ended tonight.

With Social Security, don't get too caught up talking about the minutiae.

THEY ARE TRYING TO TAKE AWAY SOCIAL SECURITY.

Lead with that every time, then talk about how: removing offices, ID verification, bogus fraud claims, layoffs, etc.

Set the narrative now. It's not alarmist. It's happening.
