The level design isn’t great in that one, and nobody praising seems to bring that up.
Like even the modern Mario Kart team doesn’t think they’re good, which is why there’s like only 1 or 2 original tracks from Double Dash in MK8 deluxe.
The double driver gimmick is interesting, but mostly useless

I'm honestly floored they didn't release Ultimate Complete or w/e on Switch 2 a la MK8 Deluxe. I feel like we're not gonna see anything until Ultimate's 10th anniversary.

Mario Kart 8 and DFO are the games I played hundreds of hours of after school with my friends in High School. DFO is actually where my OC was originally formed and evolved from after Nexon shut it down. And MK8 destroyed my thumb and my friendships lmao

This game has driver's costumes, 14 city courses, 6 original courses, 5 battle courses, ported retro courses from the previous Mario Kart games in every Nintendo console including MK8's Booster Course Pass' original courses.

This game is decidedly more difficult than MK8.
With MK8 I could win by ability alone but MKW requires some luck if you’re not hidden shortcut-maxxing everything…
Only 1 blue shell per race thankfully🙏
This is not a comfort game, more for MK veterans imo.
