this is our new "Starburst" style vinyl pressing we do at Mobineko
It's an alternative to splatter, but is higher quality due to the way the pucks are heated consistently before pressing
(unlike splatter where pellets are added at a different temperature & can cause clicks/pops at bonding points)

Well that was lucky, postman left my copy of @posthuman.bsky.social’s new Rave Wars 7” on my doorstep in the direct sun this morning whilst I was out, thankfully I came home early and got it before it turned into puddle of glittery wax. Anyway looks awesome, great work Josh!

We actually do even shorter runs but honestly anything under 100 units is not really financially viable

Mobineko does a really good job and offers obi printing if you’re into that kind of thing. We’ve used them for Attack The Music releases in the past.

Music from Dagobah Crew (aka Suddi Raval & Matt Sargeant), Strictly Kev (Ninjatune / DJ Food) and Posthuman. All artwork badly photoshopped by a human and put together by hand. Vinyl cut by Misjah at 24, custom pressed at Mobineko.

Just want to chime in and say the folks at Mobineko are the greatest. All the weird vinyl i’ve ever done has been with them, and even when I have had ridiculous ideas in mind for LPs and what (and how much) can go onto them, Mobineko has ALWAYS delivered. Greatly appreciate these people!!
Can you afford to release your album on vinyl?
I work for a small vinyl pressing plant, our customers are mostly independent artists doing small-run pressings. My job is advising people on how it all works.
Here's a short thread outlining the very basic costs of pressing and releasing an album:

There’s plenty of options for a few lathe cuts here and there or the likes of Mobineko if you want to self release.

Thanks so much to everyone who worked on the album: @genteelblackhole.bsky.social , The Sound Carriers (James, Harriet, Sian and Aiden), Adam Sowiński, Matty King, Antony at @redredpaw.bsky.social mobineko who pressed the vinyl, and of course Aiden and Rich at @divineschism.bsky.social

It helped a ton that I could use PayPal Credit with Mobineko. A gamble, but I think a calculated one since I can pay it off once I hit about 70 out of 100 copies sold

Mobineko is my go to plant
So I think it's worth it if a) you aren't playign out live and depending on it for merch and b) You don't reckon on selling vast amounts.
For comparison we did a run of 50 albums at @posthuman.bsky.social 's plant Mobineko and even for a run that small we can break even selling them at £20 at gigs.

Definitely needed to be orange in some capacity haha. I was racking my brain with comparing 7 different vinyl manufacturers. Some had better color options that I really wanted but I ended up with probably my second fav color option, yet the most inexpensive production cost overall (Mobineko)
