To say something serious and not tongue-in-cheekily annoying about the "oh wow Bluesky is relevant" piece, I do think it's a function of the fact that for as much as we goof on this website's userbase, a larger proportion of Big Posters here are relatively normal people with relatively normal jobs.

between AO3 being down with data loss, scrapes and monetization of AO3 fic, and general triple-down of fandom as content… kind of happy I’m shifting everything to the site. all 3 of those things can happen to a solo site but it divests it from social media, monetization, and mass theft in my mind.

i am all for fic commissions however AO3 is allowed to exist specifically because no one profits on the copyrighted IP. you cannot mention fic monetization on AO3 or else the entire site might get in trouble
