i couldn't find any news outlets promoing this in english but it's at the Hipódromo de Monterrico in Lima, they make fb and ig posts promoing the event that they do every year and people can go to watch for free👍

I've ridden a barge ferry to and from the road to Monterrico in Guatemala. A little different. But only a little.
The alternative seems even more horrifying: individual car floats, towed by boat to a dock.
As I understand it, the passengers remained in the vehicle during the trip.

Brutal, Tikal. Guatemala es de lejos el país más "salvaje" que he visitado. Esas ruinas, el lago de Atitlan, Monterrico...tengo muy buenos recuerdos. No se si se habrá vuelto mucho más turístico (hace ya 20 años), pero visitar esas ruinas, sin colas, hacerte fotos sin gente detrás...un PASADA.

Brutal, Tikal. Guatemala es de lejos el país más "salvaje" que he visitado. Esas ruinas, el lago de Atitlan, Monterrico...tengo muy buenos recuerdos. No se si se habrá vuelto mucho más turístico (hace ya 20 años), pero visitar esas ruinas, sin colas, hacerte fotos sin gente detrás...un PASADA.
