MPAA wouldn't let them say "subjacked"

TV ratings aren't real.

It's not like the MPAA where there's a central group that puts ratings on movies. They're self imposed by the networks because the networks didn't want an MPAA-like group to start existing for TV.

That's why Y7 on Disney allows different things than Y7 on Cartoon Network.

The MPAA has rated You Can See Everything R for, uh, what's this now?

The RIAA and MPAA should have been made to pay for their anticonsumer ways
The RIAA was suing teenagers. We had to sit through ⬇️ this shit anytime we wanted to watch a DVD. A whole generation shamed for using Limewire and torrents. Only for these silicone valley assholes to now find copyright infringement a necessary evil they shouldn’t have to answer for

Piracy is activism against the RIAA and MPAA. It is not activism when its authors and books.
Anybody who is like “Piracy is activism!”—trust me, supporting your local library is about 1000% more effective activism, and it’s still free for you and authors still get paid!

(yall gotta stop ceding ground to puritans. don't give them stickers or mpaa ratings or "mature" sections or "clean" imprints. they don't get a little censorship, as a treat.)
"well as long as it's age appropriate" no fuck you guys actually, i read adult books when i was 12 and now i'm weird as hell, as i SHOULD be

Buying and scanning the books you own is now "outright theft."

Love seeing people uncritically take up RIAA/MPAA talking points from 2001.
you can convincingly portray this whole financialized AI edifice as a mortgage crisis-style house of cards without even mentioning that the fundamental product is unreliable, based on outright theft, and people don’t like it.

we get into exactly this in the episode. Trump, like Maduro, is a looter who will pillage productive industry to death bsky.app/profile/mpaa...
Venezuela’s ruling clique is best understood as a network of interests (party, military, colectivos) that Maduro held together. So far what’s keeping the chavistas united is a mix of threats and promises of profit sharing by the US. So Trump is taking on the same role that Maduro had.

The MPAA has finally rated #SonicMovie3.

It's PG, for "action, some violence, rude humor, thematic elements and mild language."

This is the same rating as the previous movies. #SonicNews

This movie should be disgusting. There should be intense negotiations with the MPAA about how many seconds something can be shown to still be an R

MPAA ratings being a lot more lax on violence compared to sex and profanity feels less nowadays like a double standard and more like the byproduct of a culture that values normalizing violence against specific groups while policing language and stripping away bodily autonomy.

it's a fine question to ask i guess! all our kids have particular comfort levels! but unless you want a thirty minute talk on the way victorian purity politics and evangelicalism have determined our definition of ""appropriate"" then you're at the wrong table my man. ask the MPAA.

Does nobody check the MPAA rating?
