some butterflies scratch up caterpillars of their own species and then lap up the blood to make themselves smell more appealing to their mates,,,

Another reminder 2 put fresh water out in shaded spot 4 all wildlife, leave soft fruit 2 ripen, & water patch of soil as many butterflies like to go mudpuddling, that is they, mostly males, suck up minerals from soil, pass these on 2 females during mating which makes eggs more viable.
