Reading is for information, not for pleasure. I don’t understand why we haven’t moved to flexible,multiage grouping inst of strict chrono grade groups. Project based learning and less standards based testing would help too. We need to teach a mile deep, inch wide and ditch the spiral!

Indeed Maria Montessori showed scientifically that validity of revisiting the same lesson multiple times in the different contexts of "see one, do one, teach one". Applies not only to multiage classroom, but the fundamental evolution of "The Great Lesson" across each different classrooms.
