Ce modèle, non seulement je l'ai connu, mais je l'ai utilisé durant quelques années, avec un écran monochrome, puis en couleurs (16 ! couleurs), avec des disquettes, puis avec un disque dur (10 Mo, je crois).
Avec cet ordinateur, j'ai découvert le Pascal, le C, Multimate, Quattro...

I had an actual, legitimate, it took over 20 five-and-a-quarter inch floppies to install, copy of Multimate as my word processor of choice in the pre-Windows days. Word Perfect was considered the "weird one". :)

Never tried WordStar. Liked MultiMate, tho'. (WYSIWYG is overrated.) I also miss my NEC 3350 impact printer, even tho' it almost deafened me 'til I got an acoustic enclosure for it. It made truly beautiful output; justified using good paper.

My first PC was just that, the IBM PC. An 8086 chip and two floppy drives. Word Processor was Multimate, which fit on one 360KB floppy with room to spare for docs. Today, Word requires 10GB on my Mac, and I still only use the same features that MM had.

Back in the 80s, I used MultiMate. It fit comfortably on a 5.25" floppy and did everything I needed it to do. My writing needs haven't changed much but, today, Word occupies 2GB of my SSD and fights me every time I use it.

I live in Oregon now I remember a fire a few years ago started by a kid who dropped fireworks in the the Columbia River Gorge by multimate falls it was bad . Where I work when customers came in the store filled with smoke .

My dad gave up his PC-XT with MultiMate and got a Mac Plus. I sneered at that too, because black and white. 😬

Historians will find a massive gap in public record keeping over the next couple of decades as files from the 90s and 2000s are released to public archives. The arrival of the desktop PC led to large holes in the public record.

I am sure he Mandates his messages using a Dicktaphone.

I was sure it was broken because it flagged "foward," as in "Please foward at your earliest convenience."
