Fought with rehanging my older compu-dobby for 2-3 days and now we're talking nicely to each other again. 12 shaft turned satin weave; 10/2 merc cotton and tencel weft. That's one repeat. #weaversknot #handwoven #multishaft-loomweaving #weaving

She has arrived! She needs a good cleaning, a large amount of texsolv cord, one bolt, and .... a brake cable. Everything else appears to be here! For $450!

Oh. And to be moved down into my craft space, but the back beam has to come off for that to happen.

Better known as the drawer for misfit towels. I've been weaving about 3 yrs, still learning and usually end of with the first towel on the warp due to errors!!! I auction off the others for my local dog rescue. #rigidheddle #multishaft #weaving

From the Stickler book #248 using Brassard 8/2 on my table loom with 12 reed, 2 ends per dent. This will be a kitchen towel in purple and lime green.

I installed the Ashford shuttle race and I am loving it.

On to Towel #2! Same tie-ups, different treadling (hw#57799 vs. hw#57800). Also switched from Cayenne to some version of Orange from Maurice Brassard for the weft. (Yarn purchased on sale with no color number attached, just called "orange".)

There is an empty one inch gap between the end of the first towel and the beginning of the second towel. The first four inches of the second towel have been completed.

Got a new project on my loom faster than ever before, because I finally decided to put my warp board on a wall! Making a Monsters Inc poncho for my boyfriend :3 Mike Wazowski green and Sully Blue in a simple twill pattern. I even remembered to hemstitch this time

2 weeks later, and she's all back together! Cleaned, waxed, metal bits de-rusted and then sealed, new aprons, new brake, old cords replaced with texsolv. Building a raddle and installing the new brake tomorrow, and then I'll take her for a test drive.

Treadles 1 & 2 still suck to use (too close to the pivot point so require extra force for a decent shed), but luckily I only need them for 30 picks at the start and end of each towel. Currently planning a set of 5 towels with different treadling/tie-ups.

These are ready for their first bath! They grow up so fast...

5 different treadlings, same threading and tie ups. I'd originally planned on changing the tie ups, but instead played around with treadling patterns in WeaveIt.

Five dish towels arrayed so you can see their colors. In order from bottom to top: Wine Red, Light Orange, Brick, Orange, Cayenne. Each towel has a slightly different pattern on it, with natural as the secondary color. They are fresh off the loom.

She was a dirty dirty girl. Frame was 1.5 t-shirts worth of dirty, and that was after a vacuum and swiffer dusting. I'm trying to decide if I sand off some paint transfer marks, or if I just consider them part of the loom's history. Also, the cats are much less interested now.

You skipped a couple steps, re: what to do with all that handspun yarn. That's when you learn about knitters' looms. Except they can't do multishaft weaves easily, so you get a floor loom. Then another loom with more shafts. Then a dobby loom. I stopped here.

*Then* you start shopping for sheep. 😉😆

First Cayenne, second Orange...and now Brick! Same tie-ups, different treadlings for each at this point. Newest treadling can be seen in hwnet#63236.

(I'll be crawling under the loom for a new tie-up after this one.)

I'd planned to twist the fringe on this, but my fringe twister isn't in any of logical (or illogical) places I've looked. So trimmed the ends and into washer it goes for wet finishing.

I fully expect to find my fringe twister in a random place in the next couple hours, now.

A folded newly woven gray blanket fresh off the loom. The blanket pattern is LoftyFiber's Sophisticated Blanket in 8/4 cotton. The primary color is Timberwolf, and I've altered the design slightly to have 3 strands of a hand-dyed teal in the middle of the plain weave sections.
