I love having the statistical literacy to see a stat like "trans women get breast cancer earlier on average" and immediately be able to infer possible non-biological causes with solid explanatory power

She's a Bronx kid (so was I, but 40 years earlier). We all learned "Italian" (& "Yiddish" & "Spanish [multivariate]") gestures & bits of vocabulary (mostly rude), because as arguably the most multicultural US city, a shared patois is ESSENTIAL.

It’s just sad to think about how in 2007, when I was at Simon’s Rock, pretentious intellectual college kids who argued about both Foucault and multivariate calculus were already a highly endangered species with just a few remaining refuges.
Now they’re functionally extinct.

Let’s just admit defeat on how people use multivariate yeah? The problem with saying ‘actually multivariate implies multiple outcomes not multiple covariates’ is that in casual use it just implies multiple things that vary. There are more important things.

Lol love how this cites our paper while missing the point of the multivariate model: that you often *can't* coherently collapse the variation into a set of simple categories, so the best practice is to say what characters you're using as categories for your questions + systems instead
