According to a letter dated October 18, 1897 (Meiji 30) from French photographer François-Constant Girel, he "photographed two of the most beautiful Ainu dances," in the village shown in the film, which he reached by train and horseback from the port of Muroran.

子供向けの体験型科学学習施設ですね。
しかし子供向けだけに、入館料大人６００円はいささか物価高が過ぎるかなぁ。
日本科学未来館と同じ水準と考えると目を剥きたくなります💦
どうやら建物をリニューアルしたときに展示スペースがかなり小さくなっちゃったようで、それでこんなにゴチャゴチャしてるのですね。
別料金でプラネタリウムあるらしいので、それで集客できているのかなあ。

there are a few aquariums in japan that wind up with deep sea squid via bycatch and exhibit them - unfortunately as bycatch they're sometimes in rough shape and generally don't last very long.
