Not since 1991 apparently: "Prior to 1991, the methods of execution approved by Headquarters, Department of the Army were hanging, firing squad (musketry) or electrocution."

If this weren't all so serious I'd suggest it involved Bugs Bunny smoking a cigarette 😐

The timing might have been pretty much perfect, but having the musketry part of my lecture on Culloden momentarily interrupted by an air defence salvo is definitely going down as an unusually immersive teaching experience.

Prussian officers reported facing companies of machine guns in 1914. When it was more a case of superior musketry by troops well-versed in the "mad minute" drills. Something that continued into the next war, where British troops continued their dogged performance.

napoleon really was a once in a millennium talent. sure you gotta consider the mobilization potential of post-revolutionary france, but also like. he's putting up numbers. this musketry has him moving like an invasive species. he's cannoning on these streets.
Robert E Lee was the most overrated general in history. Woof.

"Rocket artillery pre-dates musketry..." The artificer informs the party, as they assemble a full-sized Hwacha out of their bag of holding that makes the party ranger cry.

Dost they verily offer degrees in musketry?

Napoleon didn't invent the infantry square and he certainly didn't invent blasting irregular cavalry apart with disciplined musketry fire!

“A number of Musketry came up to the Assistance of the Rifle Men whose fire with that of our field peices caused a Retreat of the Enemy our Men followed them to the House of Judge Lefferds, where a number of them had taken Lodgings

Musketry landscape.
Another scarce wee book. This time from 1914. Just as WW1 begins this is "Notes on Visual Training and Judging Distance In Relation to Musketry"

*Shelby Foote voice* Leaf put up a most valiant defense but the relentless vibrations in her most intimate areas coupled with the rattle of musketry and the relentless teasing of a heterosexual boy shook her to her very foundations.

Are you getting a little worked up? Feeling funny feelings? Just because a het boy is being nice to you? And might edge you to Ken Burns' Civil War until the clatter of musketry is an instant trigger? Intriguing.

Yep, called it: 919. If I hadn't stumbled on MUSKETRY and POLITIES, I'd've had a chance. But *respect* on your 940!!!

I started to learn how to use iMovie. If you have audio MP3 files it’s simple. And you can layer them to add to the effect - so this the same musketry file three times over but staggered.

[Thread] Yesterday I posted some pics of my very recently completed SYW project. 630 28mm figures, mostly from Crusader. Long term viewers may remember that I used some Volleyfire LED strips from Warlord Games to make an example musketry volley signifier. Anyway, things have degraded.

Off Fort Fredrick, there was the floating musketry target, behind which fell all the spent ball & shot. I still have buckets of Brunswick, Baker (2-groove) as well as musket ball and .577, (some Martini) I recast and still hunt with.

The new cover system looks very tasty too, and could work really well for musketry - 40k uses it for ruins and industrial areas, but you could definitely use it for gardens, vineyards, farms, etc in a horse-and-musket game.

I got my Tudor drum out yesterday for Armada filming in Mendlesham, Suffolk...

I took part with the Suffolk Free Company - we did some archery, musketry and pike drill too.

@sixteenthcgirl.bsky.social was a surprise 'guest', and a joy to work with!

Lovely to visit the inside of the Magazine Fort in the Phoenix Park
The 1735 bastion fort located in the south-east of the Park. Built to store gunpowder and arms, occupied by the British Armed Forces until it was handed over to the Irish Defence Forces in 1922.

July 9, 1776: Nassau Hall in Princeton, N.J., is “grandly illuminated, and Independency proclaimed under a triple volley of musketry, and a universal acclamation for the prosperity of the United States. The ceremony was conducted with the greatest decorum."
