"Rocket artillery pre-dates musketry..." The artificer informs the party, as they assemble a full-sized Hwacha out of their bag of holding that makes the party ranger cry.

Gardes Francaises advance into a hail of English musketry. The octagonal markers indicate disorder.

with a bloom of smoke, the entire musketry opens up - no hits on the jezails, but two rat ogres are hit, and one is wounded! will he save!?

The timing might have been pretty much perfect, but having the musketry part of my lecture on Culloden momentarily interrupted by an air defence salvo is definitely going down as an unusually immersive teaching experience.

Musketry landscape.
Another scarce wee book. This time from 1914. Just as WW1 begins this is "Notes on Visual Training and Judging Distance In Relation to Musketry"

First run through of Soldiers of Napoleon.. the French broke the British through musketry which problems means I got loads of rules wrong as that never happened in Sharpe! #wargaming #napoleonicwargaming

[Thread] Yesterday I posted some pics of my very recently completed SYW project. 630 28mm figures, mostly from Crusader. Long term viewers may remember that I used some Volleyfire LED strips from Warlord Games to make an example musketry volley signifier. Anyway, things have degraded.

Adding unregulated musketry to my list of things to be worried about, probably somewhere around the risk of getting scurvy
A musket from 1776 can fire a lead ball at a velocity of around 1,000 feet per second.

Imagine what that can do to a human body. Yet under federal and most state laws, it’s exempt from gun regulations. Many antique or replica guns aren’t considered firearms and even convicted felons can own them.

I prefer musketry myself.

It's a shame the dainsleif teams in IBO proved to be such a profoundly unpopular narrative choice because I think way more mecha shows should have a really fucked up equivalent to musketry volley fire

Though possibly not Musketry

I dunno, it's just way, way, way more satisfying when a fell demon of chaos, a prince-demigod, flies into a bunch of grapeshot and musketry, it makes it feel WAY better than when they're shot by bolters

Sedgwick’s division is entering the West Woods, in column of brigades, when suddenly from their left they are hit with blasts of musketry, disorienting and causing chaos. The Philadelphia Brigade tries to pivot to meet this new threat but that only causes more confusion in the smoke-filled woods

TIL the Moriori eschewed warfare and instead engaged in spiritual duels to settle disputes, which in practice meant walking through your enemy's village and reciting copypastas at him. This worked tremendously well for the Moriori until the Maori chartered a ship and annihilated them with musketry.

Slowly, the US units disengage, covering the withdrawals with sharp volleys of musketry. Soon the volleys are reduced in number. The thunder of artillery ceases to an occasional thump & grumble as night falls. Pops of skirmishes occasionally ring out. But for these personal battles, Antietam is over

July 9, 1776: Nassau Hall in Princeton, N.J., is “grandly illuminated, and Independency proclaimed under a triple volley of musketry, and a universal acclamation for the prosperity of the United States. The ceremony was conducted with the greatest decorum."

Not since 1991 apparently: "Prior to 1991, the methods of execution approved by Headquarters, Department of the Army were hanging, firing squad (musketry) or electrocution."

If this weren't all so serious I'd suggest it involved Bugs Bunny smoking a cigarette 😐
