The sudden vanishing of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of prominent TODAY show anchor Savannah Guthrie, has captured widespread attention, turning a peaceful desert subdivision north of Tucson into the center of a national story. It all started on a recent Sunday when Pima County deputies responded to a report of a missing elderly woman from her single-story brick home. What they found raised immediate alarms: red splatter on the front doorstep along with signs of damage both inside and outside the property, quickly leading investigators to treat the case as a likely abduction.

Authorities in southern Arizona are treating the sudden disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC's TODAY show co-host Savannah Guthrie, as a potential kidnapping after discovering troubling clues at her residence. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that investigators now think she was forcibly removed from her house in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood, likely in the early hours of Sunday morning while she was asleep.
