On my walk this morning I thought, what does the presence of moss or lichens on tree bark mean? Lichens seem so much brighter in the wet weather we had today & mosses seem to be in a growth pattern right now. #naturenyc

It turns out this pretty little moth which I thought was a Linden Bark Borer is not a Linden Bark Borer at all. The moth experts on @inaturalist.bsky.social have identified it as Neoheliodines nyctaginella. Only 4 observations from within #NYC. #NatureNYC
