I understand the lament here, but speaking a physicalist, these values are beliefs, and your neocortex permits you to choose beliefs, so what’s being commodified is either objects or objects that carry discourse, not these values. But as I said, I understand the impulse behind the lament.

I understand the lament here, but speaking a physicalist, these values are beliefs, and your neocortex permits you to choose beliefs, so what’s being commodified is either objects or objects that carry discourse, not these values. But as I said, I understand the impulse behind the lament.
