Day 27 #tolkientober "queens" - While not of a region, nor ever truly a ruler, it's not the loss of a title of a people that may have been hers that broke #Nerdanel 's heart. That was never her ambition. More than her husband, she'd give a crown for her sons any day.

“Nerdanel também era firme de vontade, mas mais paciente do que Fëanor, desejando entender mentes antes que comandá-las, e, no começo, ela o fez amainar quando o fogo de seu coração se tornava quente demais; mas seus feitos posteriores a entristeceram, e eles se afastaram.”

I bought stretch frames a few years back; unfortunately, the company's out of business and I don't see anything similar online, but they looked like this:
www.patreon.com/jennydolfen/...
Basically, a wooden board with wooden flaps that keep the paper in place. Probably possible to craft yourself.

... I'm not taking her out of the stretcher right now, just in case the client wants any changes, but I'm calling her done! Unfortunately,

"well shaped one" because his mother Nerdanel foresaw that he'd be hot af
His epessë (nickname) was Russandol, "copper top" on account of his copper-coloured hair
His Sindarised name Maedhros derives from an amalgam of his amilessë and his epessë:
Mait- became Maedh- and Russ became -ros

SAME. Honestly there's a LOT of questionable editorial decisions. Many involving women like Nerdanel, as well as the complete erasure of Findis & Írimë. But so much he took out to do with Fëanor, particularly the Miriel stuff. Knowing what Finwë marrying Indis really meant changes so much

I recently re-read the Silmarillion, and realizing that Nerdanel had become estranged from Fëanor before the Darkening of Valinor, I realized he was simply Extremely Divorced

What’s funny is that the Silmarillion seems to suggest that Nerdanel and Fëanor were already estranged *before* the calamity of the destruction of the two trees, and the exile of the Noldor, suggesting that the Kinslaying of Alqualondë was in part Fëanor being the Most Divorced Person in Arda
