i was like "bald gabora? neronga?" and then they were like Actually it's a new kaiju, Nebora when it clearly is just a modified gabora suit. just like how the original gabora was a modified baragon among many other modified baragons. which surely was the thought process behind the joke.

I've figured out a few chinasaurs (that are actually pachis cheap knockoffs of kaiju monsters) some of which Gary Gygax used for Dungeons&Dragons monsters but many that aren't known D&D creatures.This is Neronga from Ultraman episode 3 Science Patrol, Move out 7/31/1966 his nose horn got distorted

This strange anteater looking chinasaur is a distorted pachi toy of an Ultraman kaiju named Neronga, the nose horn becoming distorted into a pointed snout. It has no known influence on the Dungeons&Dragons Monster Manual monster entries

Watching this gem tonight: 2022's 'Shin Ultraman', the groundbreaking reboot of Japan's most popular superhero as he faces off against updated classic Kaiju like Neronga, Gabora, Mephilas-seijin & more. Such an excellent film!

I didn't take any screenshots this time (Sometimes a man's just gotta vibe and watch his show) but Episode 9 of Ultraman Arc slapped HARD. We got Neronga, an absolute classic kaiju from OG Ultraman, and a really solid plot.

You get the impression the Science Patrol was probably a way more depressing job before Ultraman showed up. Like they know some of these giant monsters by name. There was probably a lot of "Ah hell Neronga is awake again. Put in a restock order for body bags"

Well, Baragon's suit was used to make a LOT of kaiju for Ultra Q and Ultraman.
Pagos, Neronga, Gabora, and Magular were all made out of Baragon's suit. (Pagos is my personal favorite variation)

Rhyhorn came from a gen inspired on the burrowing kaiju archetype like bargon and Neronga, Garchomp is a land shark dragon, manaphy/phione are both weird sea spirits than actual slugs and clawitzer actually kinda looks like a pistol shrimp.
