Rest is not a reward

It’s a neurobiological imperative that does not need to be earned

Picky by Helen Zoe Veit will hurt people. Food aversion has proven neurobiological factors and ARFID doesn’t typically respond to exposure therapy. There are social elements and some kids are “just” selective in their eating, but putting it all under one tent will kill kids.

I think the main cause of my depression, speaking in biochemical and neurobiological terms is "all y'all bullshit".

Noradrenaline drives learning across scales of time and neurobiological organisation
The noradrenergic system plays a diverse role in learning, from optimising learning behaviour to modulating plasticity. Work bridging across micro- and macroscale levels is revealing how noradrenaline...

Food aversion is not cultural. It’s a neurobiological process. It’s an evolutionary advantage for your body to become repulsed and or averse to eating something that might be unsafe. People with pronounced food aversion responses have more difficulty tuning out those signals.
Hey, Autism is not a disease. While not all Autistics have food aversion, it is found in a lot of Autistic and neurodivergent folk. If you want to stick it to the people sharing and celebrating the spreading of misinformation about Autism, share stuff made by Autistic folk. Like my book:
I’m an Autistic classically trained chef and I wrote a food aversion acceptance cookbook and guide titled COLOR TASTE TEXTURE, that’s all about finding out what works for specific sensory needs and how to customize food for them. It’s useful for all ages, no cooking experience necessary.

Someone saying the Left is too dismissive of the dangers of AI.

We are not.

We understand that the dangers are fiscal, social, environmental, even neurobiological (because that shit will fuck your cognition up).

We are dismissive of the science fictional claims of the snake oil salesfolk.

For food averse kids and adults (who are frequently neurodivergent), who have a restricted diet due to neurobiological differences, a $3/meal budgeting can be a literal death sentence. It’s another form eugenics.
On the $3/meal thing: I went through a weird period where I tried to be really frugal and would try to limit my grocery budget to $50/week. I am single and educated. It was really hard and ultimately something I gave up, because it made me miserable.

We need to reframe how we understand autism. It's not a behavioral issue — it's a systems-level neurobiological difference. Supporting autistic individuals means supporting the entire nervous system.

Sudden or excessive swearing can indeed be a neurobiological sign of cognitive decline, often triggered by feelings of defeat, frustration, and neurological changes.
