This is what Nietszche referred to as "ressentiment", where one projects their frustrations with life onto an external object that is then treated as the "cause". This is so they can avoid confronting the real source of said frustrations, which is one's own failures and inadequacies.

Not how I was taught Nietszche nor how I understand him.

Macht boven alles voor de vvd, al moet je door het slijk. Dat is precies het verschil met andere politieke stromingen, die wille zu macht zoals Nietszche aangaf, ontbreekt bij anderen

finally the modestly bright idea of attending as an auditor my favorite undergrad prof’s nietszche course that i missed as a student has integrated in my murky soft brain and he’s only on Kant this term, i’ll have to wait through hegel schopenhauer and possibly marx now man

So, you've never been there. Just say that. It's a very scary place. Fear is a powerful motivator.

You shouldn't mansplain a metaphor like that to a veteran. Not only is it insulting, but it demonstrates ignorance of the position.

Nietszche said, one must be careful, when peering into the abyss.

'there may even be puritcanical fanataics who would rather lie down and die in a sure nothing than on an uncertain something.'

Nietszche

I can agree with this wholeheartedly.

I'm studying Nietzsche this term, and the whole concept of God is Dead is such a Eurocentric idea.

Yeah, I get it. You want to emerge from the oppression of Christian thought, and to do that Nietszche talks about killing God--but what about the rest of the world?

No one cares.s

I see two Ches for some reason but other than that, after Nietszche, I can't tell who they're supposed to be. That said, I suspect any of those people who metaphorically wipe the floor with Charlie Kirk and some of them would literally wipe the floor with him. 😂

Just noticed the brand of my newborn's baby wipes is called "Beyond Good," and now I'm wondering when we need to introduce her to the rest of the Nietszche collection.

That one guy is on to something, that something being this is what a trans drag queen performer to be called Frederique Nietszche should say as her intro to walking out and serving

There is a demand for philosopher based drag personas

Seeing this passed everywhere. Appears not to be a Nietzsche quote, which is not that surprising because it doesn't even sound like Nietszche? Like, was he on an episode of Reading Rainbow that week?

Nietszche never, ever made this statement.

Try again.

And where did you even get this "Post Nietszche" BS from? Are you claiming that *all* the perpetrators of the Holocaust from bottom to top read Nietszche? And you're still implying a causal connection between German History/Culture and the Shoah.

The most complete freedom for the individual, his right to full satisfaction of all his needs, are absolutely legitimate claims, and there was no need to go out to dig up Nietszche and Stirner to give them some consecration.

I made a post about how Zarathustra’s probably a Karen and the Nietszche bot followed me.

What a time to be alive

Dear reader, as I conned back over the pages, I found Nietszche everywhere, unnamed. Once again I had understood nothing.

Standout moment in my intellectual life. Ten out of ten, no notes. 6/6

Ik zit overigens niet ver van Sils Maria, Nietszche-land.

An interesting reflection on the letters of Pliny the Younger, including Roman master-slave relationships, why Christianity was regarded as subversive (my words) in the early Empire, and ...

... Nietszche.

Lots I didn't know ...

If you're into ancient history, recommended as a fun read.

It really says something when the world's first Reddit troll (aka Nietszche) winds up one of the least deranged of the entire lot and he did die in in-patient mental health treatment!
20th C. French philosophers were, by and large, utterly monstrous.

The best argument against Continental philosophy, honestly, is the wisdom and morality (or lack thereof) of its key figures, especially the French ones.
