From an art history standpoint, the way the backdrop is shown qua backdrop is an obviously early modern/late medieval visual reference, which is probably intentional since it's when NM was colonized

i voted sticker with a hand drawn map of new mexico in the colors of the state flag with yellow backgroubd and red zia and the words “i vote and drawings of a cactus, a hot air balloon, green and red chiles, and some sand dunes. at first i thought the dunes were mountains but they’re white and dune like and placed kind of where white sands is. and white sands is known for its white sand dunes. pretty famously actually

If I were a conspiracy minded person, I would remind everyone the Epstein's ranch in NM was equipped with state of the art, high powered communications equipment in close proximity to classified military bases.
