A thread. When I was trying to learn to write short form non-fiction, I paid attention to how Seanan talked about making daily word counts and emulated that in my own practice. Different kinds of writing. But still writing.
The important thing to remember is that you are committing yourself to 500 words per day, times however many days of the week you're planning to sit down and write.

Back in July, I reverse-engineered the Sony DTL-H201A Graphics Artist board. Now, PicoGraph has a new non-video-adapter mode based on that work: an emulated PSX GPU on the RP2350B that works with the original tools.
PicoGraph is now running on the PicoMEM2 board, with some testing in the wild.

actually I think more ppl should just play shadow dragons in general. it’s a great introduction to marth and also gives u the funnest class in the series (freelancer) and is very cheap compared to other older fe stuff non emulated

That kinda doesn't surprise me. IIRC he wrote a non fiction book on bdsm practices for married couples that was very explicit that gor was fiction and not something to be emulated in a literal way.

The other infuriating fact about the WiiU is that it has a similar architecture to the Wii so it can run Gamecube games natively. But they made a disc drive that can't read GC games, so we have to rely on third party tools to play (non-emulated) GC games on a modern HDMI monitor.
I got the 2011 E3 WiiU trailer recommanded. I remember it was bad, but it's actually worse than I thought. Their ass did NOT have a marketing team 😭

mainly joking but also. i feel like its a decent blend of retro and modern fe mechanics and is fe at its most simplistic and its tutorial is very concise and not drawn out. bonus point its a marth game AND relatively accessible non-emulated if u have a 3ds

a recomp is when a console game gets recompiled to run natively on pc, instead of being emulated. from there it can be run at higher resolutions and framerates, or with added bugfixes and mods
there are lots of great non-slop recomps out there, like Sonic Unleashed, which has never had a pc release

It is ironic that all the SciFi imaginings of AI have them as 90% computer with a thin veneer of whimsy, poorly emulated. Often incapable of non-literal thinking, lying, or imagination - usually unable to even comprehend them even after explanation.

It’s basically “is it cake?” for human intelligence. Creating a convincing fake of a process’s final result is not at all evidence that the underlying process was successfully emulated. We know the non-verbal parts of our brains process faster than the verbal, so “words=AGI” was always pretty dumb.

The main downside to playing it in 2026, such that you can call it that, is its visuals, which combine prerendered sprites with 3D geometry, look crusty on non-CRTs, especially emulated. Absolutely benefits from quality CRT filters that meld it all together as intended and make it look coherent.
