#nonanswer
This was quite a moment:

Barrett indignantly handed Kagan an assist after Sauer’s nonanswer to Kagan’s question.

"do you know how many mass shooters there have been in America in the last 10 years?"

The “nonanswer” answer!

If you had read the manifesto you could have written "Yes" before that whaargarbled nonanswer

I think the answer is a lot more simple than his circumlocutory nonanswer….yes. Yes, it is.

I thought there were two moments that really hurt Vance, both clumsy evasions:

1) his nonanswer on whether they were going to deport parents of US citizens
2) his nonanswer on 1/6

both were obvious in real time and while the second one has driven some coverage after the fact the first was ~ignored
Fascinating that the impression on here among us politics perverts was “Walz wasn’t polished and Vance won on points” and among a large number of normies was “That Vance guy ain’t right and I wouldn’t leave him alone with my child, dog, or couch”
I had a long conversation with a very apolitical friend of mine who watched the debate last night. First he'd ever seen of Vance or Walz. His impression was that both came across as "nice guys," but that there was something creepy and dark about Vance that he saw erupt at a few moments.

Getting Kirk to cowardly say some apolitical nonanswer in the face of his own actual views is the real victory.

"That's a damning nonanswer" was the most important sentence in the entire debate.

That's a damning nonanswer if I've ever heard one 😂

Trump was caught on a hot mic saying he thought Putin wanted to make a deal “for him,” to end the war on Ukraine.

Yet when a reporter asked Press Sec. Karoline Leavitt what led Trump to that conclusion, she offered a meandering nonanswer.

The right now piling on Caitlin Clark for giving a nonanswer on the trans girls in sports question. "Coward," says Megyn Kelly. Matt Walsh says she's the "biggest coward in the history of sports" for not calling out the "anti-white racism" she's supposedly subjected to. Shut up and dribble indeed!

"Does it really matter? Human, Digimon - what people see is what you show them!"

(A nonanswer, in other words.)

She’s downright Trumpy in her nonanswer to this reporter’s question.
She paid herself out of this “charity.”

Looking forward to the moment I get to say to one of my students explaining why an assignment is late, "That is a damning nonanswer."

The point being that at some point, a public position held by someone closely associated with you is so appalling that you do say something or we judge you for not saying that. That should strike no one as strange, and puts the lie to the notion that her nonanswer ought to be beyond criticism.
