Okay so the Forever Q&A section basically confirmed that they are doing High Elves in Forever.
Their plan was straight up just putting High Elves into Northshire Abbey, but they decided to expand it into a full Quel'thalas story that makes sense in the timeline of vanilla WoW.

You've gotta keep in mind that right under the surface, WoW lore is completely fucking unhinged. It follows directly from everything we know about the origins of humanity in the lore that they may in fact just emerge from a vaguely factory-like cloaca under Northshire Abbey.
Come to think of it, have they ever confirmed that humans even reproduce sexually in warcraft? Given that their predecessors were just built in machines, you could easily make the case that they just spawn from like. A curse of flesh'd Forge of Wills copy.

Whew! That was a long day of travel and I wasn't even driving. Was nice to see the old haunts when I lived in Vermont. Lunch, going to Northshire Bookstore. It was fun. Glad to be home though. I'm tired!
