Little fun fact, when suggesting this composition to Joschua, part of the idea was that a recent study found resonance chambers in Caipirasuchus, which further ties into improved hearing in baurusuchids, which might suggest that these animals were a lot more sound-based

the metabolism of notosuchians was once hotly debated, although more recent studies – including one based on histological analysis – conclude that they were ectothermic, though their metabolism was still higher than extant crocodilians www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

ttention paleoartists. I finally finished one part of something that I've been planning to do a long time, a collection of references for the osteoderms of various pseudosuchian groups, starting with Notosuchia.

Looks like we got ourselves a new itasuchid, Sissokosuchus from the Early Cretaceous of Mali.
Not the most complete, but nonetheless great to see the notosuchian record of Africa expanded

There is some evidence that the genus Caipirasuchus possessed structures that may have functioned as resonating chambers, not unlike those of hadrosaurs or the antelope Rusingoryx
