NYDSA + Dems being the vanguard party, as we all expected
October 27, 2025 at 1:16 AM
dsa national is run by people who think nydsa is one of the worst chapters because they support people like zohran and aoc

Not convinced it would have been a successful endeavor but not a day goes by where I regret NYDSA/Mamdani backing down from challenging Hakeem Jeffries
JUST IN: North Carolina's Dem lawmaker Carla Cunningham gave the GOP the decisive vote to pass a law forcing police to comply with ICE. She said "all cultures are not equal."

She just lost reelection BIG in the Dem primary to a progressive pastor & activist, Rodney Sadler. 70% to 22%!

Context:
The Feds Targeted Charlotte. Now a Local Democrat Who Helped ICE Faces Voters. - Bolts
North Carolina lawmaker Carla Cunningham voted to mandate compliance with ICE, and derided immigrants on the House floor. The Democrat faces an intense March primary.

The NYDSA is going after Goldman.

Let’s see what the NYDSA Choir is up to. Not cringe I can assure you that much! Only Democrats are cringe.

guess where i stole that thought from, though. blackburn running in west Harlem, NYDSA. code switching, who would have thought it possible? anyway

Saving you a click:

1. Plenty of leftists have criticized some of Mamdani’s choices, especially pertaining to the NYPD.

2. AOC is one of the most popular Democrats in America, even among leftists.

3. The NYDSA just endorsed AOC again, with more than 80% of the vote.

Axios gonna Axios.
Really telling how a bunch of leftists accuse AOC of being a sellout or a neolib for becoming popular within the mainstream Democratic establishment when Zohran Mamdani is making similar compromises and socialists love him for it. www.axios.com/2026/04/12/a...
AOC wrestles with left-wing Dems as 2028 decision looms
Ocasio-Cortez has fumed about criticism from progressives, believing it's unfair and counterproductive for the movement.

And like while it's true that the DSA isn't going to be winning Senate races in TX any time soon, there's clearly been a phase change in what sort of loyalty Dem voters have to the party establishment. The NYDSA has done a great job of channeling that locally, but it's a national phenomenon
I'm sorry, but the Democratic establishment doesn't get to say "these are low turnout primaries, they don't mean anything." Ritchie Torres, who unlike Espaillat and Goldman, *trounced* his primary challenger got a *total* of 24k votes.
Chevalier got 33k
Valdez got 38k
Lander got 55k

LA-DSA has a viable candidate for mayor and they failed to endorse her

we really are so very very lucky to have the ball knowers we have in NYDSA
March 22, 2026 at 11:27 AM
eh I don't think that's really true. she's very tight with NYDSA, does a lot of stuff with them. the loudmouth tankie dipshits are not very representative
October 2, 2024 at 4:28 PM
Lander has immense political capital, momentum behind him in addition to proving himself as a partner to NYDSA by backing NYDSA to the hilt, it makes infinitely more sense as a choice of politics to back him over the DSA candidate versus random tosses

Yes. NYDSA said the rally was aimed at showing “solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right to resist 75 years of occupation and apartheid.”
NYC pro-Palestine rally splits Democrats over Israel
Gov. Kathy Hochul and other leading Democrats blasted the rally as “abhorrent and morally repugnant.”

everyone in NYDSA running down cuomo through 2025
January 2, 2026 at 10:30 PM
I'm not sure, I know the national party removed their endorsement of her last year, but NYDSA still endorsed her
November 19, 2025 at 12:28 AM
Year ten since the NYDem NYDSA Civil War began with AOC’s Charge and the war has entered the mop-up phase of the end game
All the Mamdani-backed candidates seem to have won tonight. Huge.
June 24, 2026 at 2:12 AM
Plus the NYDSA sweep in the primaries last month
July 22, 2026 at 8:38 PM
Chi Ossé wanted to primary Hakeem Jeffries but the NYDSA gave him the thumbs down because it'd create a rift with the NY democratic party and specifically Mamdani's relationship with it
April 1, 2026 at 1:39 AM
The anti-election bent in some left spaces is heightened to a state of incompetence (my local DSA chapter fractured over whether to make political endorsements).

At least parts of the NYDSA figured that out and focus on winning elections to enact preferred political outcomes.

first time in more than 60 years a major city mayor has embraced Milwaukee’s very own good government philosophy of “sewer socialism”

proud to see Milwaukee’s history continuing to make waves today across the country
April 13, 2026 at 2:14 AM
I feel like that is not what mamdani and nydsa is doing at this point though right?
November 23, 2025 at 4:59 PM
it seems to me like NYDSA is racking up wins while the national org repeatedly screams at anyone who actually obtains any power that they're a sellout
January 3, 2026 at 7:20 PM
"Can't trust a Jew," says NYDSA, "they're only pretending to support good policy."
November 10, 2025 at 7:20 PM
Is there like, an actual reason the NYDSA isn't voting to challenge Jeffries? Like he withheld his endorsement of Mamdani to the last minute, he's been a constant anti left element within the Democratic party, he literally voted to condemn socialism today
