I have posted chapter 2 of Room 1717 on squidge, so it's now complete! I will post the conclusion to Ao3 when I can. Hope you have enjoyed the mildly spooky vibes.

In which the boys talk to a ghost (?) and get to the other business of the evening. 😏

Ao3 might be down, but there’s always SquidgeWorld…

Ed recalls a Halloween tradition taught to him by his mother. Forty years later, he wonders if it still holds true.

From the ghost hunting fic, Room 1717, first chapter of two dropping soon!

Oh yeah did I mention Stede asked Ed to ghost hunt via Grindr? 👻📲🍆🍆

#WIPWednesday #OFMDFanfic
Ed: you up to anything fun for halloween? Stede: Well, I suppose that depends on your definition of fun… Ed waits for him to explain, but Stede doesn’t send a further message. Ed: now i need to know Stede: I’m sorry. I fired up the app tonight intending to ask someone to join me, at the suggestion of a friend, but now that the moment has arrived, it seems rather silly. Now Ed really needs to know. It’s so hard to find someone doing something original out here on Grindr. Ed: i love silly stuff Ed: promise Stede: Do you know anything about ghost hunting? Ed has watched Ghost Hunters a few times, but that’s it. Is this guy serious right now? Ed had never thought about ghost hunting himself, but this dude is asking him to ghost hunt on Halloween via Grinder of all venues? Ed is all the way fucking in, and he doesn’t even need to ask to see a pic of the guy’s face. He has a feeling it’s a good face, and that he’d rather experience it in person the first time.

archiveofourown.org/works/65891080 #OFMD #OFMDfanfic CW: mention of emeto
Izzy came to stand beside him, arms folded, expression hidden under the shadow of his baseball cap, looking as solid and unchanging as a boulder. The thing was it was a lie. Izzy had changed. Was changing. He was wearing sunglasses too as if trying to hide the bags under his own eyes. As if he had been clubbing and stayed up way too fucking late to do it. Maybe he was hungover too, Ed didn’t know. He wasn’t sure if he’d even seen Izzy drunk. And maybe it had something to do with the fact that Izzy had just spent about ten minutes puking his brains out in a public restroom. “Maybe you should work on your core,” Ed said, just to say something and to avoid the growing sense that something bad was going to happen that wriggled in his gut. “Why so I can become Linda Blair?” “Uh…” Izzy looked up at him, expression inscrutable behind his glasses. “The Exorcist? Come on. You had to have fucking seen it.” “Dunno. Might have slept through it.” He’d slept through a lot of horror movies on the small badly sprung couch he and Jack had shared. Mostly he’d been either too exhausted or too depressed or too bored to stay awake. It was fun though to sneak up on Jack in the dark later on and make him jump. God he missed him some days. “Not surprised you slept through it,” Izzy said. Which got right up Ed’s back. It felt like a dig, but he couldn’t tell what Izzy meant by it. He wanted to ask. Wanted to sarcastically apologize for not being good enough for him.
