VP of my Tiefling Tav Amaranth looking up unsure Amaranth rushes up to the transponder. She's made it just in time, with the help of Shadowheart and the fierce Githyanki woman keeping the rest of the imps and beasts distracted, cutting a path for her. The transponder hissed and writhed as she cautiously approached. Its appendages ending in what looks like a head with teeth, reminding her of many close encounters she's had with giant carnivorous plants in the Feywild. She grips one carefully in her hand, pulling it towards her. She looks down at it, unsure what to do. Her attention is drawn to another one, looking back and forth at the one she's holding, when she gets an idea. She reaches out, about to grab another one, when something stops her. A sense like she's been here before. Not on the ship. This feeling of eyes on her earlier. Someone watching her from the shadows. She hasn't been able to shake the feeling, even as they were running toward the helm, further away from it. She stands there, still in a daze, wondering if she should go back. Like she's so close to something she's been searching for. She just doesn't know it.

He turns and gives her a quick kiss on the forehead, pulling her closer against him. Her smile is by far the brightest thing in their garden. They’ve always been better at conveying feelings with actions, not words after all. “They’re kissing! Fae! Will you turn around and look?!” Their daughter's voice is so high now it almost cracks from excitement. “I can’t! We shouldn’t be watching…” That gives him an idea. And Amaranth knows that look. Her lips are sealed, but he can hear how she’s laughing behind them. He leans down… and captures it with a gentle kiss. There’s a sharp squeal before Fae has the chance to turn and cover his sister’s mouth, worried they ruined the moment. His sister was a lot like their mother in that way. A hopeless romantic that melted at moments like this. They both smile, laughing into the kiss before slowly pulling away. Pressing his forehead to hers, basking in each other for a minute longer before Astarion turns. “Alright, you two can come out now!”

A wip snippet from a piece of spicy writing: Holding her in his arms the second he was back. Crossing the space between them so fast that she barely had a chance to brace herself. Kissing her loving lips, laughter against his. Pressing harder with every breath they take. The blood he consumed turned louder in his ears, chest on fire from the feel of her skin against his. "You know…" She teasingly muffles between burning kisses. "… most couples don't usually greet each other at the door in such a dramatic fashion." He smiles knowingly, tugging on her lower lip. The crimson in his eyes comes alive when he looks into hers. "Nothing about us is ordinary, my love. You…" His words wove together as though he were speaking in a forgotten, ancient language that only they understood to prove a point. "… and I. We're anything but in a world where you exist alongside me." His mouth closes in, ready to capture hers in sweet surrender once more. "And I can do… this." He's beaming, she is too, as their tongues dance together with the intent of kissing all night long.

'You see that poor child? How they wield the darkness with unconscious effort? They've learnt to embrace shadow. As we all should. Just as you once did…' Bile filled the back of her throat. Her head filled with all those voices growing louder, spinning like a top. The incantation. She can't see Ulric. Not anymore, but she can still hear him. His voice crossed the line from whatever plane he watched from afar as her mind unraveled in disarray. Fear tangled its way around her soul. "Stopping for a bit of sightseeing, are we?" Astarion approaches from behind. "I don't see what the big deal is. It's just a piece of wood. Nothing to write home about." '… I know the darkness that festers deep inside you. It cannot be stopped. Not when it so longs to burst forth from its slumber after a long winter's sleep. It's as much a part of you as I am. As I always will be.' "Hey, are you alright? What's going on?" "Can't you hear him?" "Hear who?" Astarion asked. 'My sweet, corrupted flower… soon they will see you for what you are. Hiding behind those delicate silk petals so full of color. All flowers turn to wilt, and you are no different. Before that happens, we will collect what is ours. Drag you back into the shadows.' She'll never forget that laugh. The night she had been caught, back against the wall. She'd been this close to taking back her freedom, but now, there was nowhere left to run. 'And this time, you won't escape us again. We'll make sure of that.'

And he promises her, under the stars' glow and the moon's light. Beneath the canopy of this ancient spirit that guards this sacred place. Bearing witness to his unbreakable vow. His hand corded in hers. The ones that held him so tenderly when fear and doubt were all he had ever known. That wiped away his tears in the graveyard as he exhumed his long-dead heart that was locked away for so long. And now he was giving it to her. Where he knew it would always be safe. Her hands that reached out to him, even in dreams from far away. And now hold him every night, as he drifts into the most vulnerable parts of her. Entrusting him with her hopes, memories, and deepest wishes. She commends him with it all. Her fingers laced with his, in trust and compassion, the night he first sank his fangs into her. And now, with these hands, he holds his entire world. That will soon hold their children. Giving her the same strength she gave him to face his demons and help set him free as they start a new life together as one. All that he is, body and soul. Forever bound with hers. To love her for eternity. His unfading flower. His Amaranth...

VP of Astarion on his knees quietly hunched over Amaranth, noticing she fell asleep in front of the campfire without covering herself to sleep in her bedrool, a pot of tea beside her with a pained look in her sleep “Oh, your poor parents.” He says, but there’s an undertone of humor behind the words. “You know that most children tend to lock themselves in their rooms when they’re going through a rebellious phase. Not up a tree. But if you still feel that undeniable compulsion to climb any more trees in the middle of the night, I’ll presume to let our merry little band know we should start checking the treetops around camp?” “I don’t know about that." She smiles coyly. "Sometimes you gotta mix things up now and again.” Even if she couldn’t get the humorous image out of her mind. “The campfire feels way too cozy to pry myself away from. And it’s my first time sleeping in a tent! I’ve never had an excuse to use one until now. I’m kind of excited, to be honest. And besides…” The silence was unsettling. She hadn’t stopped talking all day long. Wishing Gale would cast Silence on her to get her to stop for five minutes before the afternoon sun had even begun to set. And for the first time, Astarion sees her struggle. Carefully choosing her next words. It felt wrong. Took everything in him to keep him from pressing, so he could hear her voice. Even if it was irritating.

"Listen carefully." The Archfey narrows her eyes at Isolde, waiting for some sign that she could still hear. "Both of you." "Isolde?" Tristan softly calls her. She stirs slightly. The sound of her name from his lips gave her just enough strength to find the words, even as her body tensed up. "I-I am…" Isolde groans. Weak and disoriented. Ready to endure the pain and any sacrifice the Archfey bestowed upon them. "Please…" The dark fey's lips twist upwards. Her smile as enchanting as it was malefic. "Very well. Let the Feywild bear witness to the terms of our pact! I, Mórrígan, devoted follower and proud lady of her Inner Circle —The Queen of Air and Darkness pledges this to you." She takes a brief pause before continuing. "My magic shall flow freely through you and into the child. A piece of my own self that she will carry for all her days. From the moment she opens her eyes and takes her first breath, every part of her will belong to the Fey Realm. And so shall you, too, Isolde Vel'Thyrn."

Lowering his forehead to hers. A silent promise to her, and to their child. He will save them. No matter the cost demanded of him. Golden eyes lock with the Archfey's. Determined like the sun rising after the darkest night. "… even if it costs me my life. As long as you can guarantee me theirs, then I'm willing to forfeit everything I am."

Then there’s the tiny whisper of “Syl, your tail is making noise!” Followed by a quiet, “Huh? Aww geez! Why does this always keep happening?” “Just hold it! Da’s gonna come over here if you aren’t careful!” He can see Amaranth is trying to hold back the laugh. He doesn’t. “Either your magic’s rubbing off on me, or that’s a rather chatty pair of crickets.”
