Supervisor Fielder said she’d call a hearing on how Lurie’s office awarded the PermitSF contract to OpenGov.

OpenGov won the contract despite city staff found its system had “gaps so significant” that it “shouldn’t be considered.”

SF obtained the permitting system OpenGov in a no-bid process. It cost $5.9M

Now the city wants to lock it in until 2031, for $33M more

Workers say OpenGov is janky and can only do rudimentary tasks. They are still using the archaic system it was meant to replace.

missionlocal.org/2026/09/open...
S.F. is poised to spend $33M more on OpenGov. It’s still only handling basic permits.
OpenGov is supposed to consolidate the city’s disparate permitting systems. City workers keep using the old system.

I'm in a battle with the City of Medina to get them to post recordings of council meetings (imagine that!). They've posted 3 in the past year. I filed a records request that I stated could be filled by just posting recordings to the city website. They sent me one and closed the request. #opengov
