Opencamera doesn't remove chromatic aberration on my phone and it looks so much better. It suppresses noise less in general which gives it a nice digital texture

Photo set up if anyone is interested. I bought some fancy crafting papers on ebay and i just curve them on the desk and use my painting lamp to light the scene. Gets lovely results for almost no cost. I just use OpenCamera on my phone to take the pics.

After years, I've finally discovered what makes my sunset pics so intensely sunset'ey.
I use OpenCamera app, opencamera.org.uk
With "White Balance" set to "Auto," it sets "Cloudy" for sunsets and that brings those vibrant sunset colors.
Go give it a try tonight!! 📷 #PhotoSky

Sadly I don't believe it is possible, as other apps (eg OpenCamera) still produce smooth pics. Seems to be a firmware thing. Lame

OpenCamera does the same. It's so awful =( and I feel my phone has gotten worse with updates in that regard. I am not due a phone change quite yet but when I am it will not be a pixel again 😅

Ouch! One way to find out whether it's the firmware or the camera app is to try another of the latter, like OpenCamera. 🤞
If that does the same, the smoothing is in the firmware indeed and there's nothing one can do about that 🤷

Camera from Graphene OS or OpenCamera (open-source) are more than enough.

Is OpenCamera AI-free? I installed it and I think it is, but I don't trust this stuff anymore.
