After I move out, I have always debated years after on going insane and investing in OptiTrack. Unless Vicon got some $18k options for VTubers, I'd probably pick OptiTrack cause it was the system my tech college had and I'm a little familiar with the UI and calibration.

Thinking about how cool it is to have technology generally available and accessible for different levels of motion tracking!! As someone who’s been through the Horrors (dramatic) of Optitrack, APPRECIATE THE COMPARABLY SIMPLER THINGS AVAILABLE!!!!

Right now we’re in the middle of upgrading:
1) Unreal Engine 4.27 to 5.4
2) 4090 DLSS3 to 5090 DLSS4
3) 90 fps with reprojection to 90 fps native
4) OptiTrack to our 2-year effort to pimp out Meta’s Shared Spatial Anchors into something stable and usable and amazing.

Having done a lot of markerless motion capture stuff, even the top end optitrack systems struggle with certain things. Also say goodbye to baggy clothes, or a blanket. Also yeah this would be a camera in your play space 24/7. Idk if the convenience is worth it.

Wie ich bereits erwähnt habe, ist für VR ein gutes Trackingsystem wichtig, das die Bewegungen des echten Körpers auf den virtuellen überträgt. Entsprechend haben wir hier alle Hand an Trackinghardware. Zum Abschluss für heute: Micha probiert Trackinganzüge aus. Viel Spaß! Ich bin für heute raus!
