My new book 'Lifelike Shakespeare' will be published by OUP on 29 October.

Who is really there, and how do we know? The book offers a new account of Shakespeare's creativity by exploring what lies at the margins of humanness in his works.

Currently dealing with Stilicho's campaign versus Constantine 'III'. Just when I wanted to write about the role of Rome' senate, I had to first explain its reform by Constantine [I]. For clarification, I was nearly tempted to write "the OG Constantine".

Somehow I suspect OUP won't let that pass.

I think this used to be supporting materials for Mark Morford, Robert Lenardon and Michael Sham's "Classical Mythology," but no sign of it at OUP or anywhere else any more.

This is a great book for anyone interested in a cross-national history of thinking & policy regarding population size and specifically birth rates. Scandalously awful pricing on this, sadly (over $60.00 on Amazon and $73.00 at OUP website). I got pdfs via my library.
