I was thinking of this yesterday as well while playing. Genuinely just buff other midlines so that they can outspace it reliably. We don't want another Splatoon 2 situation where almost every main weapon feels like it's being held back. We need more strong weapons like S-BLAST, Slosher and Stamper.

The only change I can see that doesn't interfere with it is slightly reducing the range which is prolly what I could see working, and would keep the fun aspect of the hitscan long range mode in tact and make short range easier to outspace, so maybe that's a good answer.

while an exaggeration it feels like if the nuclear bomb vs coughing baby argument had the asterisk that the coughing baby could cough as propulsion and zoom around to outspace out time and outposition the nuclear bomb to win the theoretically losing matchup. i can't actually explain this well at all

psa for any lies of p noobs the tutorial on red attacks from enemies is worded weirdly and makes it seem like the only option is to deflect but what it means is you can't normal guard or roll into it with iframes, you can totally outspace plenty of them by running away
