While hiking/birding, we stopped & I shared an idea about an owl with my DH just before noticing THIS barred owl sitting, slyly watching us, and then going back to sleep nearby.

Went looking for whip-poor-wills in new territory; found a $h!tload of them! Despite walking miles of trails & roads, only found them IN the road once we packed up and were driving out of said area (and there are 2 in this awful photo of mine). 😂
