Sorry guys, but Anakin pulled a baddie despite constantly talking like an 8chan message board pretty much entirely because he happened to also be really hot. Like, crucially, that and a literally terminal case of “I can fix him” are the only reasons Padmé overlooked all the glaring red flags.

I can feel sorry for Anakin's life while recognizing that he is still responsible for his choices. He never talked to anyone about his problems. Not even Padme knew how screwed up his mind was until it was too late.

There's so much that doesn't work about the prequels but number one on that list for me, by far, is "Padme reciprocates Anakin's affections." I like Jar-Jar more than I like that relationship.

It’s funny because his character in the prequel movies works BECAUSE he shows how shallow and thin skinned the far right is. It’s what makes his scene on Naboo with Padme (“What you’re describing sounds like a dictatorship”) so true to what he represents

The whole romance between them was badly written.
They go from Padme feeling uncomfortable with Anakin's obvious interest in her (she probably still saw him as little Ani) to being madly in love in the span of a few days.
Plus the issue with the Tusken massacre. All that after her arc in Ep 1.
