Ever wondered how giant Miocene crocodylians (e.g. Purussaurus and Mourasuchus) reached such large sizes? In this new paper led by PhD student Ana Laura Paiva, we show that climate of the Western Amazonian region played a key role!

Interesting article on the assimilation of past climate data and the reconstruction of climate change trajectories. Monotonic decrease in sampling can significantly affect the apparent pattern.
