🔬 Let me introduce myself! I'm a doctoral candidate and palaeontologist fascinated by reproductive fossils, island biogeography, avian evolution, extinction and conservation biology.

I'll be sharing scientific reviews, forgotten discoveries and unexpected evolutionary connections. 🥚🦤🌍

so tempted to chaos gremlin, but definitions we give the undergrads in the intro biogeography class:
morphological: visual/structural characteristics meet a threshold of similarity
biological: reproducing or potentially reproducing with viable offspring
evolutionary: genetic lineages, blah blah.

while fragmentary, the holotype of hintighernia offers fascinating insight into the neuroanatomy of tapejarids, and the paper also discusses other fragmentary tapejarid remains from cambridge greensand!

It's always weird when you search for your own name and stumble into someone else. Even more so when it's with academic papers (and it isn't as if my last name is that common).

Embrace biological anarchy. We're the only natural science without rules –– that's scientific freedom!
So my advice to my biology colleagues and students is to “celebrate the anarchy”. Think of it as job security-ish.

Same. Then I worked for a summer as a biology prof’s field assistant in a place where I could see biogeography and geological history with my own two eyes. Absolutely no way yec could compete with that.
