I am an ex paleobiologist who started a brand of very niche and very nerdy Natural History - inspired art for other lovers of Earth and Bio sciences.

Pins, stickers, charms, mugs, tees in many various pride flags available.

One of these days I’ll make a 🦋 account for it…

Prof. Jasmina Wiemann has been selected for a prestigious Packard fellowship. This the first recognition of a paleobiologist by the Foundation!

That is 8 Packard Fellows in 6 years for Johns Hopkins University.

Our next speaker for #DinoConUK is Tess Gallagher!

Tess is a paleobiologist specialising in #sauropod integument. Her research began when she uncovered a ~75cm piece of Diplodocus skin while volunteering for the Elevation Science Institute. #Diplodocus skin has since been her main research subject.

‪A beautiful story, told from clues put together by paleobiologist @dmcediacaran.bsky.social and colleagues, that honours a Beothuk woman's words and layers earth's deep time with historical time and cosmic time as well.
Here is a writeup of our work on #Aninoides and how it helped us to uncover a little bit of Beothuk astronomy. Obviously :-)

With huge thanks to @julialaite.bsky.social

TIL that in addition to the David Schwimmer who played a paleobiologist in a sitcom, there's another David Schwimmer who's an actual paleobiologist.

Which must be awkward.

Calling all fish people! I think we need to establish a community of fish scientists on here. I can start: I am a paleobiologist working on fossils and phylogenetics of ray-finned fishes. Please share what you do and re-post for a follow!

Between a "big" manuscript submitted today, working on another review paper that's almost ready to submit, and receiving multiple rounds of unrelated good news, I'm enjoying this #FossilFriday. Very blessed to be a paleobiologist & biodiversity scientist 😎

Hi, I'm Brendan and I'm a paleobiologist who studies macroevolution and paleoclimate mostly using marine snails 🐌. I look at how they grow and age using isotope records in the shells.

My thesis was on how these snails (Vermicularia) evolved to get wormy and make reefs
