A bewhiskered seal looks out at us from a detail of the print, the fish known as a Moorish idol swims down from above, and the nose and teeth of a giant shark loom in from the right. Meanwhile debris rains down from above - plastic bags, bottles, a jerrycan, possibly a scubatank. The junk is comparable in magnitude to the sealife. A pufferfish and two seahorses swim above a discarded car tyre, amid cotton swabs, bottles, cans, a toothbrush...

Two large modern artworks hang in an ancient church, with arched Gothic windows behind and a font in the foreground. The artworks are black-and-white prints on canvas, both celebrating the beauty and diversity of sealife along with the manmade threats - of plastic and other pollution in the first; various forms of seabed destruction in the second. We look up from the seabed towards boats on the surface, through shafts of sunlight which illuminate many diverse living beings and a profusion of descending garbage. The overall work is beautiful, but the juxtaposition is pointed.
