1st stop today = De Papil, Sint-Michiels - less than 5 mins on the bus from Brugge centre. St Bernardus Tripel is one of their permanent draft lines & it's sublime.

The 7th-9th century Papil stone (Scotland) has a combination of Christian symbols - the cross, the monks and the lion which represents St Mark - and pre-Christian symbols- two bird-headed men pecking a human head. From a visit to the National Museum of Scotland in March.
