tbh this might be why I liked Pazaak in KotOR but never liked Gwent. Pazaak has the feeling of something some grubby Star Wars smugglers would play. And it doesn't get up its own ass with complexity. Most good card games have a small number of rules that still carve out a lot of room for strategy.
