Who could have guessed that bringing cars back makes it less nice for pedestrains?
Cars buy ZERO stuff

“For the first time in four years, St-Denis Street has lost its pedestrian-only status and is open to cars for the summer. Business owners and event organizers say the decline in foot traffic is disrupting operations during what should be a busy season.” youtu.be/DymPPZufAQM?...

its actually kinda incredible how bad the signals are on 3rd street, not just for the T but also busses and pedestrains

While leaving Walmart today, I noticed this man working on his pickup truck.

Not only are these oversized vehicles a deadly danger to bicyclists, pedestrains, the disabled, but they are also to other drivers.

When one needs a ladder or to climb into the engine compartment maybe it is too big!

Bayshore continues to be a highway running right through a neighborhood that has historically been hurt the most from freeways and warehouse trucks.
it needs so much to become even remotely safe for pedestrains
We are heartbroken to learn that another pedestrian life has been lost on our streets, this time at the intersection of Bayshore Boulevard and Jerrold Avenue.

You can read our statement at walksf.org/releases.

things like- roll stopsigns
park in bike lanes
fail to yield to pedestrains
face zero repurcussions
not pay enough for the externalities they cause
ect
The behavior of Waymo’s self-driving taxis has apparently shifted in recent weeks or months, based on safety data collected by the company, and it means the cars are doing certain things more like real people do behind the wheel. buff.ly/O67rtMi

he stands by and motions for other pedestrains to keep walking.

When they're done crying, Eijirou sends them along with a reminder to be safe and turns his attention on Katsuki. He stalks toward him and growls out, "Two, baby."

Eijirou changes direction last second and slides passed Katsuki

Traffic collisions involving pedestrains in Hong Kong, 2018 - 2023

Though I’ve worked substantially with traffic collisions data, my focus has typically been on data analysis rather than cartography

& Twitter tanked 79% after his changes for "efficiency" . Teslas run off the road into pedestrains & he counted 3 launch explostions of his Mars rocket as a success. Doens't sound like a track record to ensure efficiency of our Gov

i even prefer these old renders over the new ones that fill space with pedestrains and minimal car traffic

Sometimes its just too windy to enjoy a coastal run, fortunately we have a network of roads called Ruette Tranquille (the lanes) where pedestrains take priority, a detour for a loop round a nature reserve then back on the lanes. #runnning #run #outdoor #guernsey

I CANT FIND THE ORIGINAL POST FOR "just walkmogged those pedestrains by feeling in tune with my city" or whatever exactly it was I'm so sad

This has benifits to pedestrains as well since less lanes is less lanes to cross and smart signals will just flip the light for a pedestrain if theyre there! (if desgined right 🙄)
I think safe streets advoctes dropped the ball on advocating for smart traffic signals because "People should ask for better traffic lights, not more lanes!" would narrow lanes while keeping traffic flow (makes engineers happy) and saves us money in the long run.

City planning and infrastructure should be planned with pedestrains in mind. There are ways for rural and suburban travelers to commute without cars: It's possible, and the returns in cutting back on car-brain space alone would pay for the costs needed.

FUCK! FUCK!! THEY COULD DO SO MUCH!!!
Picking up a car and breathing poison in until whoever's in there crushes it open like it's a tin can, grabbing an evacuating helicopter out of the air to make sure they get their dose of poison too, grabbing random pedestrains-turned-blimps to toy with them...
June 19, 2025 at 11:51 PM
But it is not your turn to walk unless the green pedestrian signal is lit?! Do America not have signals telling the pedestrains specifically when they are free to walk?

Day 36 of #The100DayProject is the first major photography fail.

It was really bright so the camera screen wasn't visible and I didn't realise until later that in all my photos the focus was on the distance rather than the two seabirds parked on the beach...annoying
