Most families have no idea their child can develop Long COVID. They aren’t hearing it from pediatricians, schools, or public health agencies. Parents can’t advocate for their children if they don’t know there’s something to advocate for.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ #PediatricLongCOVID

Including pediatric cancer facilities. Some children contract COVID while receiving cancer treatment and go on to develop Long COVID. Protecting them means stronger infection control everywhere care happens and family education on importance of avoiding infection.

The flip side of this story is that cancer care facilities must have continuous-use respirator policies in place, along with high quality ventilation and air cleaning with HEPA units, and educate outpatients about COVID avoidance in the community - and the ones that don't are killing people.

A new study found teens vaccinated before getting COVID were 36% less likely to develop Long COVID.
