#PermanentStandardTime makes the most sense. Aligns best with human circadian biology. We lived through this in the 70s. Permanent DST was quickly repealed. I remember walking to school in pitch darkness. Have we learned nothing? #NoMoreTimeChanges #MorningLightIsMoreImportantThanEveningLight🤔
“If [permanent Daylight Saving Time] was put into effect, sunrise would be 8:20am in New York. You don’t want kids walking to school in the dark. We don’t want all of us commuting in the dark.” Thanks to Alyssa Farah Griffin! 👏 We want permanent Standard Time instead!

On this day in 1974: Repeal of permanent Daylight Saving Time progresses through Congress. Permanent DST proved problematic to farmers, schoolchildren, and broadcasters.

Serious debate topic: we have the technology these days for clocks to gradually speed up or slow down throughout the year to compensate for the ever-changing schedule of the sun. It wouldn't be noticeable from day to day. Might that solve the issue of daylight savings? #PermanentStandardTime

The sun should be overhead at noon, high noon. Standard time makes us happier and healthier than daylight savings time. 🌞👍

On this day in 1974: Midwest governors formally request repeal of permanent Daylight Saving Time, citing danger and dreariness of unnaturally long morning darkness.

As someone who loathes DST this makes me very happy. Daylight minutes lost in August. #PermanentStandardTime

“Daylight Saving” and “Sunshine Protection” are deceits. Restore permanent Standard Time for more honest time-keeping.
July 21, 2026 at 12:31 AM
Morning sunlight cues our internal circadian rhythms. Influenced are sleep, alertness, mood, metabolism and cardiovascular health. Delaying sunrise on a permanent basis leaves humans (and animals) out of sync with their natural biological clocks. #PermanentSTANDARDTime 2/

I hate Tom Cotton. But if he really opposes this, then I hope he succeeds in stopping it.

Permanent Standard Time would be so much better for everyone even if they whine about wanting more daylight later in the day.

#PermanentStandardTime #FuckDaylightSavings
“Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., has previously opposed the bill, citing potential harms to schoolchildren commuting in the dark and people working outdoors in the early morning without sunlight. He "has the same concerns he's had for years about this proposal,"

Daylight saving bill hits wall in Senate

Why has EU not got rid of DST yet? Just do it - THEN each country can decide if they ALSO want to change their timezone. Suggesting "change to daylight saving time" is counter-productive, causing delays. Standard Time is the time to use for now. #EU #DaylightSavingTime #DST #PermanentStandardTime

Ironically, Drumpf is demonstrating the broken clock idiom by advocating a sensible policy. I'd prefer #PermanentStandardTime (matches natural #CircadianRhythms), but either is better than the current system. @savestandard.bsky.social

Pleasantly surprised by the cool overcast weather today.

However, I am definitely still feeling the effects of the DST jet lag. My body doesn't know when bed time is, and doesn't know exactly when to wake up either.

It feels trivial to whine about this but it will have a material impact on BC'rs. #Alberta, let's not follow suit.

Write to your MLA, asking for permanent standard time. Permanent Daylight Time is a health hazard.

Welcome to ⬆️ sleep deprivation, car accidents, health consequences - thanks to our switch to daylight “savings” *

* NOTE: same amount of daylight; no daylight is ever “saved”🙄

#PERMANENTSTANDARDTIME. But then, you knew I would say that.
Rhode Islanders and all Americans need morning sunlight most, we need permanent Standard Time—not Senator Whitehouse’s permanent DST “Sunshine Protection”!
Quarreling between ‘spring forward’ and ‘fall back’ keeps us in the worst scenario: back and forth.

My fix passed the Senate by UC!
