#phylotranscriptomics
In the WALII Symposium I provided insights of how our recent research on #seedmaturation #phylotranscriptomics is helping us to explore the link between seed #development & plasticity, including regulation and #evolution of #desiccationtolerance.

Vandenabeele et al. show that the numerous phylogenetic incongruences among gene tree topologies in orchids result from pervasive ILS, over which stand out several well-supported, ancient and potentially adaptive gene flow events between lineages.

The "wrong" was where @ostratodd.bsky.social (and me) found barnacles and copepods were each other's closest relatives, and we named that group Hexanauplia. The new findings for copepods contradict this. These are hard questions, so we may learn more in the future!
