#plurality
It's anywhere between a point of pride to a plausibly deniable smirk that a plurality if not a majority of DSA are open, often card carrying, communists, often tankies. D is a diversion to them.

🌙i like emphasizing that my plurality brings me great despair As well as immense joy. its just our way of being

I defended you, Lukaszuk. It's not about using FC 'plurality' for partisan gain, but simply that you don't use that apparatus to *interfere* w/ Left claiming proportional control, representative of the true population.

During an historic antidemocracy gerrymander.

Pls show you deserved my defense.

A 2-1-1-1 vote plurality, and for once, a vote not of convenience lol #WeakestLink #WeakestLinkFox

Blaze: Add plurality to the mix and it quickly turns into finding a needle in a haystack... Where the needle can move.

Alice: Also making sure you find the right needle cause you might find a similar looking but different needle and-

Kay: The brain and body are very yes
the fact that I have to be in the “right headspace” to do even the simplest tasks is absolutely humiliating

Ugh. I don't like doing this after 2020

SC-SEN: Tossup -> Tilt D

I scoured the polls and read them over multiple times. I took the crosstabs, took the EV, pored over everything. My nearest guess is an Andrews plurality. Overall, Black voters were just too undercounted and 3rd parties take R voters
This leaves my last Tossup to assign as the US Senate race in South Carolina, and I'll do it tonight.

how to be more open with our plurality

24. Trump will try (and fail) to overturn the results, citing spurious election fraud claims
25. Republicans will learn basically nothing from losing and will run the same campaign in 2028
26. the Gen Z vote will be plurality pro-Dem regardless of gender
27. Elon Musk will ragepost all month long

Neither actually IS a choice in plurality voting. Your choice is to caste a vote in some way or not. Your choice is actually NOT to pick the outcome. You see the difference? They back an equivocation into the scenario.

A lot of people chose Harris as the lesser evil; she didn’t win.
November 3, 2026 at 12:12 AM
Neither isn't an option in plurality wins, unless literally zero people vote for any other option. The chances of that are literally zero given the "team sports" voters who just want to see "their guy" win and don't care about anything else.
November 3, 2026 at 12:09 AM
this is, to be clear, an indictment of plurality-wins voting. It is defective and needs to be replaced with something that allows a more honest expression of voter preferences.
November 2, 2026 at 11:56 PM
Except strategic voting is not the same thing as being told to choose one of two unrelated things. It's a reaction to the perceived likely actions of other people, and I've yet to see a mathematical model in which plurality-wins voting doesn't collapse into two options when you start doing that.

The fundamental problem is that plurality electorates are won by big parties, and produce massively disproportionate results within that portion of the house (because cube rule and incumbency effects).
November 2, 2026 at 11:53 PM
This is kind of how plurality felt to us before we recognized it and started communicating, with big memory gaps we have been closing.
Not saying you are plural but. It wouldn't hurt to meditate on it and maybe try calling out in your mind.

We haven't given a non-Dem a plurality of our votes in a Presidential since Debs in 1920.

We have been and will likely remain split roughly 70/30 (+/-5) for quite a while yet.

Thank you to all who came and saw us at Winnipeg Comiccon this weekend.

The votes are in: your favourite Canadian superhero is Deadpool. It was a close race, with a plurality of only 12 votes over Wolverine.

“They” refers to either a plurality of people, or an ambiguous person. If we’re talking directly, there is no ambiguity.

If you consider your gender ambiguous, that’s a you problem.

Plurality is fun because I wasn't the one to pack this suitcase and now I get to play the game of figuring out what's in here

Interesting how a simple survey, asking whether #ForeverCanadian should morph into a civil movement, educational society, a national unity force or a political party, makes diehard partisans nervous.

Some want plurality, but only to benefit their party.

Braid: Thomas Lukaszuk might form a new Alberta party, built on Forever Canadian — Calgary Herald
If Lukaszuk does form a party, it could harvest a shocking number of votes from both the UCP and NDP, denying a majority to both

YouGov highlight plurality support by 47% for a longer timeline (Labour split 41-41 but 65% Cons & 62% Reform support) but this does not hold up for those already here (just 37% with most of centre-left opppsed)

Britons tend to support extending the period that legal migrants have to have lived in the UK before they are granted indefinite leave to remain, as Shabana Mahmood announces many lower-earning migrants will now need to wait 10 years before they can claim ILR

Support: 47%
Oppose: 35%

New youGov find majority og progressive votes opposed (Labour 51-31, LibDem 54-29, Green 56-26) to changjng settlement timelines for migrants in UK already. The 43-37 plurality against the govt decision to do that is reduced mainly by strong Reform support 59-26 with Conservatives more split 47-39

Tomorrow, my comics course starts in on THE MAGIC FISH by @trungles.com. With UIC’s plurality of various immigrants, I think this one is going to resonate.
November 2, 2026 at 10:37 PM
The Telegraph tucks away these very tepid attitude findings intended to suggest public opppsition to the u-turn, but not finding that! A 47-35 plurality for changjng the timeline, lost once applied to those already in the UK with a 43-37 plurality against changjng timelines

It's fine.

this was originally going to be a piece about plurality, but I couldn't draw a second fox to my lofty standards, so here's the pivot :3
November 2, 2026 at 10:07 PM
I think having watched Law & Order from 2001 to 2006 very recently makes this fresher in my mind, as I lived it during the time and the media saturation was largely pulling on a VERY real 'majority' narrative that a plurality of 'political operators' and voters were buying into.
